I strongly recommend hooking up this light. Mount it somewhere on the dash where it can be easily seen by the driver. The light will not only tell the driver if the brakes on the toad are working properly, but also tell if the brakes should fail to release for some reason.
Raymon,
Well, you're partially correct. What I mean by that is, if those wires are hooked to a light on the dash, when lighting up, all the dash light will tell you is, that the toad is surging and, therefore actuating the Ready Brake mechanism. And, if the link cable is intact, then we can ASSUME that the brakes are being applied in the toad.
But, you can loose that link cable, forget to hook it up, have it break, go limp because the clamps came loose, etc. and, you'd still get the ACTUATION LIGHT on the dash of the coach when the toad surges against the coach. It's a good thought on the process by Ready Brake but, it's not a fool-proof idea.
I, like many others on here and other RV forums, do it a bit differently. We take our "notification" that the toads brakes are being applied right from the brake switch on the toad itself. It's just a different school of thought.
