I just did this 2 weeks ago on our 2011 CRV.
Couple methods,
first is to use magnetic lights, this is the easiest however it needs to be done each time and you need to be careful about where you place the wires etc and hope it doesn't scratch your paint. The advantage to this method is that it's independent of the CRV, the downside is that it's not a permanent install and needs to be set up and removed every time.
Second method is tapping into the CRV's existing wiring. This will require a little more work and some diodes so the CRV does not feed back into the MH. The advantage to this system is that it's permanent and a one and done install. The downside (some might not really consider it one) is that it's invasive into the CRV's wiring system.
Lastly (the method I opted for) leverages the advantages of both of the above options. Drill and place an extra set of bulbs inside the tail light housing, and run the wires and plug for the MH to the front grill. While this option is likely the most work, it's probably the cheapest and I preferred this method because it's completely independent of the CRV wiring but it's also a permanent job. I used this kit.
