Bob on those units check the acual temp on the intake of the unit to the thermastat.
they were known for jumping 10 degrees and cycling as you describe attwood will say its normal but i found it usually is a devider missing between the intake and outake or a bad temp sensor
That divider would make sense as something is causing the unit to shut off as soon as it reaches 100 degrees. Now I have to take the inside ceiling piece and see if the installer installed them.....
