Another gal here. I purchased a Class A pretty much on my own and I did not have the experiences that you had. I was treated seriously. I did ask questions that they may have been surprised about but I think they are surprised if anyone asks knowledgeable questions. Overall, I think my buying experience was the same as anyone else's.
I am the only one that drives it - it is a 39 foot pusher. My DH has not done any driving yet, but I hope he will soon. He is worried about messing up "my" motorhome :-)
On our first trip, we pulled into the check in area and went into the office. At this place, they escort you to the site. The guy in the office turned to my DH and said "Just follow me in the golf cart". He looked at him and said "Don't talk to me. She's driving" as he pointed to me. :-)
I do not have any trouble driving it but I am very careful. I admit that I worry about what can go wrong but I just love traveling with the coach.
