Wood putty to hold awning screws in rotten wood ?

My guess is that your computer still had one of the small windows (posting, preview, quoting etc) open behind your browser. That catches me all the time.

Sense a picture is worth a thousand words I thought Id put a couple more up here to make sure this is the type of canopy that it would be OK to just take the whole canopy off. The one pic is just a small section of the metal plate that the canopy is connected to. The plate that goes across the whole length of the canopy and is then connected with ALOT of screws to the camper . OK . Very strange . Now it wont let me paste the link on to the page where you Enter the complete URL for the image. After I copy it and click on the URL box. It wont bring up the option to paste it. I just did it and it had worked fine. O well. Ill try it later and if it works I will post them.

I thank every one so much fore all the helpful info. I was happy and surprized to get so many replys. I didnt know if I would get any. For in the future is there a way to reply individually to someones individual reply? Sense the awning cant be used .And all the bottom wood is so rotted. If its OK to just take the whole awning down fairly easy I think I prefer to go that route,( if I can get the neighbor to come help.) I was afraid I would do a lot more harm trying to take it off. Fill the holes in with what? Ive heard dicor before. But they make lots of different products. Do I want a chalk or a silicone? Ive heard silicone only stays good a couple years but I can get some Eterbond I ve heard people talk about and cover it later with that. The lower wood is pretty rotten so if I go that route I think I will glue in some hardwood dowels instead of filler. But it good to know that filler is much harder and stronger then putty.( as for the plate on the inside. I can't get to the inside of the trailer there. Its to low.but thanks.) If I go the lower gluing in hardwood dowels route I got a couple more questions yet. As I wish you could see, I have some big slashes in the outide paneling where I ripped the bottom screws out of the aswwning support beam accidentally. (I haven't fooled the the picture loading institution given yet. No idea how to create a URL. but sounds like its not a quick easy thing. I got a piece of thin sheet metal I was going to put on top of the panaling and drill the holes through it also. Would the liquid nails work well to gluethe sheet metal on? Is epoxy stronger and if so do I need to use it for the sheet metal also.( I allrady have a can of liquid nails and unforuently expense is always a factor with me) If the liquid nails would be OK for the sheet medal, would it be OK to use it to glue the hardwood dowels in also? Or is epoxy and gorilla glue differently better and stronger then liquid nails.
