Worried about "break ins"

This year I/we have been awakened during the night with what sounds like knocking on our bedroom window twice . Another time while we were all awake, we heard someone or something hit the wall on the rear deck. Late last fall someone came into the open garage, and took my fishing vest, a large tackle box with two expensive reels and lures etc and fishing basket. total now appears well over a thousand dollars as lures are four to five dollars each and the reels one fifty or better plus other items hooks etc and a trout net.
The dog or someone there must have scared them off. We live in full view of state hwy and a big cove surrounded by woods. Must have been on four wheelers.
So I set up some nights.
