Would Like Some Opinions on This Ad for Hi-Lo?

According to NADA Guides, a 2002 Hi-Lo at 22 feet has an average retail of $5,080 for the Bronze, Silver and Gold plan. The low retail value is $4,220 which is more in line with what this unit is worth. The repaired roof and walls would drive it more towards the lower end of the retail value.

I looked at the pictures, and it looks like there might be a crack in the shower pan where it meets the wall. The picture is not real clear, but it that is the case, it could mean more water damage. I'm also curious why the shower head is laying on the floor. Does it have a mounting location?

I would NOT pay $5K for this rig.

Worth looking at in my opinion with the following BIG caveat:

Title problems are the thing that always worries me about Craigslist sales. Has the seller verified to your satisfaction that he is in the fact the person on the title/registration, and that everything is copacetic in that department? Not knowing Texas rules, I can't predict how difficult such things could be to unravel...

RV's are nearly a miracle that they stay together at all. I would look and look closer to home. Some one desperately needs to get rid of one and it may just fine. $5000.00 is a lot money to pay for a nightmare.

I had a hi towlite like this one for 10 years. It was great and towed so easy. The Dallas HiLo dealer still services them and does a great job. The unit looks clean. Like others said, just make sure the titles clear.

I pulled a HI-LO for a friend once to get it home and that was one heavy trailer. It was a 24' I think and dry weight was a good 4000lbs which probably puts it in the 7000lb range loaded up with things. Was also dual axles

Certainly is a great idea for fuel economy. Hard walls and not much wind resistance behind the truck when being towed.

My '74 21' was very heavy (over 4000#) and I found that if the bed was made up the bathroom was inaccessible. The only good thing was the color. It was a perfect match to my '75 Lincoln. They were both dogs.

Water damage due to leaking roof is the Worst thing that can happen to an RV. Don't buy it!!! He is asking full NADA value, but at least was honest enough to admit water damage. Pass.

Hi-Lo's are unique; if you have a small tow vehicle the low profile offers advantages. I found the lift seal to be inconsistent, leading to cold air/dust intrusion. Being out-of-business although still serviceable; a significant discount is appropriate.

Hi-Lo's are well built, too-bad former owner allowed the all aluminum roof to leak by failing to seal a couple of seams.

Since the seller said "IN person, Cash only" I doubt it is a scam (This is good) but, and this fits well with his request for "In person" I'd want to lay Eyes on.

Someone else gave you the NADA book on it... So pay it a visit, look for any flaws or cracks or issues.. Check for rotted wood, Make sure battery works to run it up and down. Do a full "PDI" type run through while you are at it, and then use any flaws to talk him down on price.

I really wanted a Hi-Lo back in my trailer days but alas, was not to be.. So instead I ended up with the rig below.. It does not do LOW well.

I would be willing to go look at it, if it were me and I wanted one. I would make a "day trip" out of it, surely there is something worth seeing near where it is located!
As previously stated, inspect it VERY carefully, note every problem, then negotiate the seller's rock-bottom price. If it is a price you feel you can live with, jump on it!
