A British double-decker bus would be a much better candidate. 35' long, 14'6" high, and a sure-fire conversation piece wherever you go. You'd just have to have a good computer database showing where all the low bridges are!
The Leyland Atlantean from the 1960s-80's would be a good candidate, but you'd have to drive on the sidewalk side unless you could find an export (left-hand drive) model. They were transverse rear-engined rigs and a major factor in UK public transport for decades.
If I were 50 instead of 73. I'd be looking. Having been born and raised in Leyland, where the factory was right in downtown, two blocks from our family hardware store, may have something to do with my enthusiasm!
