We just arrived home from putting a deposit on an RV. We loved the layout, but thought there was something a little strange about the recliners in the unit, they didn't seem to quite match. I had asked about switching out the chairs, and they told us no. When I looked up the same model online I found many pictures that show different chairs that better match the other furniture in the unit. I assume they needed the chairs from our unit for some reason, and switched them out. What I am wondering is do I have a leg to stand on to get the right chairs? We did agree to buy the unit with the chairs that are in it. We have spent 6 months looking for the right camper and really don't want to just not take it. Would love to hear ideas about what we can do.

Get the brochure or print out the pictures and show them..... go for a swap or an added discount.If they bock.....tell them you want confirmation from mfg. that those recliners are the correct color scheme for that rig.(Get the discount!)And IF they give you grief over the recliners....what kind of issues will you end up with them later for service :HIf they treat you badly before sell........well, be forewarned.

If you agreed to purchase the unit with the chairs that are in there, all you can do is ask, and it appears you already did. If the coach is new, that's a different story altogether. Do as OB suggested and print out the online color pattern, which is available on the Manufacturers website. Then you would have a leg to stand on. Good luck.Let us know what happens.

After you buy it you will have no leverage at all.

You are buying the rig you looked at and signed the contract for. Any brochure or comments from the manufacturer are outside the four edges of the contract. If you didn't want it the way you saw it, you are beyond the negotiation line when you "Agreed to buy".Besides a few trips and some use, you will not care about the "color" match.

Wouldn't be the first time a salesman took something from one unit and used it to sweeten the deal on another.As mentioned, if new you have some clout, otherwise it may cost you a trip to a furniture restorer.

Somewhere in the fine print it will mention that they have a right to make subtle changes during the model year.

Really? I took my queen sleeper sofa out and replaced it with a residential reclining love seat with no problems. Removing a slide seems dramatic.

Can't image having to remove a slide to replace furniture. Worst case for me would be removing the glass from my back picture window. Anything in my trailer will fit thru that 5'x5' opening.

Most RVs have a picture window somewhere. Any glass company can remove the glass in less than an hour and put it back.

I removed my jacknife sofa and put in a side by side recliner, I told the dealer I would buy the recliners if he could get the unit in thru the main door, no problem he said, and did it in about 5 minutes......no problem, we now have a great side by side recliner that we love.............

People swap recliners all the time. The backs pull off and make it easy to remove the recliner. I've never heard of anyone removing a slide to swap recliners. If the trailer has a 30" door you can lay the recliner on edge and pivot out the door. Worst case scenario is you make have to remove the base.
X2 !! I swapped mine and had no trouble getting them out by laying them on their sides. Typically the furniture you get in a new RV is such cheap junk they won't last more than a year or two. I wouldn't worry about them too much as you will find you'll be replacing them sometime anyway..

It may also be very possible that the ones in the trailer you are buying are much more comfortable than the ones you were thinking should be in it!

If the color is livable, then go with it!

This wasn't the case with my friend's Redwood. I've heard of others having to do the same thing with other rigs as well.

Thanks everyone, after looking online at probably 50 of the same rv model we did find one other that had the same recliners as ours. I'm guessing it was a 1/2 year switch. We recently had that happen with another model that we were looking at. There were 2 2015's side-by-side and they were very much different from each other. The salesperson explained that one of them was actually a 2104 1/2, but still considered a 2015. He said manufacturers do this often to test a new model and get feedback.
