I put 26.4 gallons in the 26 gallon tank. I once put over 27 gallons in. Stations out here in nowheresville are few and far between and a sudden 30 MPH headwind kills your mileage.

Maybe,, Had a friend bought a brand new Excursion 7.3 Diesel, We were in Las Vegas towing a trailer on The 15, his DIC said 25 miles until Empty, As he said maybe we should get some fuel,, it ran out of diesel and left us stranded in the middle lane of a busy busy freeway!!

My dad taught me when I first started driving, after I did a very near "miss" with another car.... "An inch is just as good as a mile!" It didn't help me from shaking in my boots, but I understood what he said!

Yea, you might have cut it close, but you still made it! An inch IS as good as a mile!
