claims to have a noise level of 59dB but it doesn't say if that is at the rated load or at 1/4 load.
Ya on the box it shows its 51db a 1/4 load (400 watts)
I will only be using this for recharging my batteries during a boondocking trip ... anyone know what kind load is put on a generator when charging x2 6v batteries???
Costco return policy is amazing and this is a hell of a deal in knowing you have a warranty from Costco for a couple years.
When I hook up to my TT's power cord to recharge, initially my Honda 2000 will run a little higher on the rpms, but as time goes by it settles into idle.
Maybe I'm wrong here but your batteries are needing amps to recharge and don't theses gen's put out a constant Volts and Amps as opposed to Watts which varies with rpms? Reason I say that is we have a Traeger pellet BBQ and I can run it with the gen on idle, but when you need to run a micro, coffee maker or AC you need more watts and then the gen needs to run more rpms. - falconman515ExplorerAnyone been using one of these lately?
Thinking I may be in the market for one later this year. - Ron3rdExplorer III

Folks, it's not rocket science. There are 2 steps involved:
1. Buy the generator at Costco
2. If you don't like it, return it to Costco.
Does Costco still have the same no questions asked return policy on Generators like they do any other product?
Yes they do. It's no questions asked on everything they sell. The only limitations they've added over the years is on computers and TV's and such. They put a time limit on these items because people would use a flatscreen TV or laptop computer for a year or two then return it and upgrade to the newer model because they never had a time limit on returns in the past. - PAThwackerExplorerI dropped a G on a blue boy during hurricane sandy, and have it locked up inside my garage. I may take it out during spur of the moment no reservations weekends and hunting camps once I stop paying for daipers, daycare, and wipes.

Really they sound the same to me ... I'm sure these are of course running in eco mode at 1/4 load but thats all I will need I'm sure just to charge batteries each day.
I can;t tell the difference really ... this thing is starting to intrigue me a bit for the price.
Sound Comparison Video
Another great video of this thing from unboxing to testing out tools and microwave etc. etc. ... this video tells it all really ....
