I was pretty specific when I first started searching. But there are a lot of different inputs. I already knew the job I wanted because of the schedule and location. But there are a lot of jobs on there all over the place. You can also search for seasonal stuff.

What terms do you search for on usajobs or do you search by location?

We retired a few years ago, worked a couple gigs at gift shops and campgrounds in other parts of the northwest, ended up in west Yellowstone for a summer, found out about usajobs.gov Found an opening in Yellowstone that suited me great, equipment operator, and this will be my third summer there. Cannot believe they pay me for driving around in a national park, especially Yellowstone. I have actually considered trying to get on the snow removal crew at end of winter, wife wouldn't be there, but may give it a try in a year or two. great pay, good hours, I work 4 days a week, and very low cost campsite. If I would have known about this I would have retired even earlier than I did.

What's the gig in Yellowstone like?

I'm not retirement age. This will be my first season working in the park at Mammoth Hot Springs.

Sometimes you just have to grow a pair and follow your dreams. The alternative is living with regret.

9th...summer coming up for us... got really hooked. :)
