Yelp no longer a reliable source of information

We have used Yelp for the past several years to try to find hotels and restaurants on our travels. Unfortunately they now filter out any negative reviews so there are no longer a good source for this ...

To boot, there are businesses whose sole job is to shill (create bogus accounts and post bogus reviews, both good or bad) for restaurants. This is a big industry, and an arms race into itself.
