Yeti coolers?

I personally don't have one, like you I have an old Coleman Extreme that works just fine. Another deciding factor is the weight. I can easily carry my loaded down coleman full of ice and drinks. Good luck carrying the same size yeti that has the equal amount of ice and drinks any distance or by yourself. Just my opinion.

I guess that if you need to keep things cold they are. You can read the reviews to get a good idea. I love mine for ATV'ing around in the desert.

Watch the videos on youtube. You can get other brands that are better for less than half the price.

And they only keep ice longer if you keep them closed. If a bunch of kids open the cooler 20 times a day they dont work any better than a cheap one.

If you want the best cooler you can get and don't mind the price, yes they are worth it.

If you don't mind buying ice more often and are cheap like me then you can just keep dreaming of them. They are relatively small inside compared to outside dimensions also.

I do have Yeti mugs and can cozies and they are awesome, just very pricey. But, look at RTIC equipment, said to be just as good at half the price.

I agree with Chris on this,
BUT seeing that higher price, I ordered a Rtic to overcome the higher price. I am pleased with it so far. around 160.00 shipped to my door.
now it took 2&1/2 months to get it. I ordered a vinyl wrap for it last week to make it look outstanding.

of course they aren't worth it. they have a flexible zipper topped on at only $299 which is similar to my $9.95 walmart special. :)
other Yeti knock offs are half the price and probably just as good. I mean we aren't talking rocket surgery or brain science here. buy a coleman, glue styrofoam sheeting to the inside walls, and for 10% of the cost, have equal protection.
IMHO Yetis are ego boosters, not unlike Rolex watches and other pretentious nonsense.
my daughter got me a Yeti travel mug for Christmas, works great, probably better than most of my other ones but $39.00????????????

My opinion. For the occasional weekend and holiday camper no. But for the extreme outdoorsman yes. They are very good coolers but I determine need by use. I determine want by, it would be nice to have but for the money do I really need it. If money is no object get the Yeti.
I use the Yeti tumbler to keep my drinks cold. Even in 100+ weather locked in a parked car my drinks stay cold all day. The cup will be so hot I can barely hang on to it but the drink is cold and still has most off the ice remaining. Yeti makes an excellent product. I also have an RTIC tumbler....works just as well and cost less.

Well if the YouTube video's are to be believed then the $10 Walmart tumbler works better then your high priced Yeti. Couple guys I know seem to think the Walmart tumbler is just as good.

RTIC is defiantly undercutting Yeti and I would think that Yeti is going to have to change there pricing or get left behind. I got an RTIC tumbler for $10 the other day and it works well.

I have used a Yeti cooler a couple times and I wasn't all that impressed. Didn't think the cooler held ice that much better then an Igloo cooler especially for the price and the Yeti is heavy for the amount of storage.

My main issue with these high dollar cooler is they have become a theft item. No one ever gave a second look at a $30 cooler setting in the back of a truck but you don't dare leave a $300+ cooler in the back of the truck unless its secured with a cable lock.

We use the Coleman 5-day cooler sitting under my folding truck bed cover... Does great for us the past 5-6 years we have been using it... Keeping the shade does wonders...

We sit a smaller clear plastic box with lid on top of the ice for keeping things from getting water logged...
