A well designed and properly load trailer attached to a adequate TV doesn’t necessarily need a WDH with sway control. It’s critical speed will be well above normal highway speeds though the addition of a WDH with minimal tension and a bit extra sway control isn’t a bad idea. Some get lucky and they’re combination tows well, many lack the knowledge to put one together and depend on TV commercials for education.
