You just cannot fix stupid

That's when the Ranger needs a 'parent permit', altho parents probably don't taste all that great.

At Trailer Village at the Grand Canyon last September, the Elk were in rut and the males were very aggressive and all over the campground. My wife and another woman were taking pictures from a distance when a man walked by them and right to a very large male elk. That Elk immediately charged the man, who moved very quickly. We were talking to a Ranger about it and she said that a few days prior, some parents put their kids on the back of an Elk to "ride it".

In Yellowstone one year, we pulled over to watch a Grizzly bear walking along a creek. Everybody stayed their distance and a park ranger was watching and tracking the bear. A minivan pulled up and the parents opened the sliding door to let their kids out to chase after the bear; which they did, running across the filed towards the bear. The ranger pulled her rifle out and was aiming at the bear while yelling for the kids to get back. Thankfully they did stop, and the ranger was furious with the parents. I doubt very much if they understood though.

It is amazing what you see traveling this country.

We humans keep reproducing and taking more land from the animals so we either have to manage the animals or manage humans and since its illegal to manage humans and I hear they don't taste all that great anyway I guess for the forcible future we need to continue managing animals.

Not trying to fix either of you. I realize it can't be done. Nothing wrong with buffalo burgers for the hungry and human burgers are thankfully off the table.

I feel sorry for Yellowstone due to the over population by humans. In fact, I don't have much confidence in those that are responsible for our national treasures. Enjoy your visits and especially the traffic.

Like the post title says "You just cannot fix stupid". Read stupid stuff and believe stupid stuff without using your brain and asking yourself why leads to posting stupid stuff. But then again the tree hugging animal rights groups don't understand animal over population and human competition for the same space at least not until they have a bear or mountain lion camped out on there front porch then they get all crazy about wanting it removed.

For coolbreeze01 info, the land can only carry so many animals, would you like to see malnourished dead and dying Bison, Elk and Deer in the park instead of health animals? By removing some of the animals from the herd the overall health is maintained and the meat is put to good use instead of ending up in the parks road kill pile. Also by managing the park's herds the animals are more likely to stay in the park and not wander outside of the park and cause problems in the bordering towns and farm land. I go to yellowstone every year. Lately, I have noticed buses of Asian tourists who seem not to understand it is wildlife. It is not only Asians here but it seems that the whole bus converges on the bison for a close up picture. I also watch a few walk up to a Grizzlies kill and try to take a picture of the bear in the brush. The Rangers hado go up and get them. I think it is the fact they are on a bus and have only a few mins at each stop that pushes them to do stupid and also not being around large animals much.

Years ago I was listening to an interview of a park ranger on the radio. This was in Jasper National park. The ranger said the dumbest thing he had ever seen was a dad putting jam on his two little kids hands in effort to get a bear over to lick their hands so he could get a picture.
We travel through there often and there are usually big bull elk grazing beside the road with their huge racks. Countless times we have seen people trying to get close enough to get a picture of them touching these animals.I can't get away fast enough as I do not need to see the results.
