Back to my origanl post about the "J turn Intersection" which is the name they are giving it here. On the page I linked too there is a video or a broadside accident happening at a intersection on a 4 lane highway. If you watch the video the van pull out in front of a car. Now the van driver made a mistake. Mistakes happen, I've made some big ones in my time. What I don't understand is why the car keeps barreling along at high speed while the van pulls out in front of them. Then does almost nothing to avoid the collision. Isn't anybody taught to be a defensive driver anymore? Whenever I see someone who looks as though they are not paying attention and may pull out in front of me I ; let off the gas, flash my headlights, sound my horn, try to make eye contact with the other driver, and get ready to start breaking and/or avoiding the collision.
