Your Torque Wrench?

Based on many posts here, it seems that many of you travel with a torque wrench. I have never owned or even used one, and I have turned many a nut or bolt with torque specifications just by guessing. As far as I know, that method has worked, but for some reason now, I feel that I should be torquing things properly -- paranoia, maybe? Owning a travel trailer, I have many nuts and bolts with torque specifications that require frequent removal and replacement, so I think it's time for me to buy a torque wrench.

What brand and model torque wrench do you use? Are there any accessories that go along with it for various applications?

Thank you,

Bruce
  • Don't forget that adding an extension onto the wrench so the socket will reach the lug nuts will change the torque reading. These wrenches are calibrated with a socket mounted directly onto the wrench.

Also, a couple of 1/2 drive extensions, and a full set of 1/2 drive sockets metric and US. This is just a small subset of what I carry in the Motorhome at all times.

X2. It has served us well for 8 years now.

X3 had mine 11 years now.

    Torque Wrench Posts

Being the idiot I am, I didn't even think to do a search. There is a lot of information here about torque wrenches, but not many posts stating the preferred make and model.
