For those with ZAMP solar panels and hardware on their motorhomes/towables.....

No idea who Pulse Tech are, so I have no opinion on the possible effect of this "merger" on the ZAMP products.

Speaking of prices for their stuff. I asked a Michigan retailer about getting one of their 100W flex panels and the wiring and connector, and was quoted around $600. That seems steep for a 100W panel and a piece of cable.
They gotta pay for all those $3 connectors they give to RV manufacturers, so the manufacturers can market RVs as "solar ready." If 1 of 100 customers buys a Zamp system, they win.

  • It's gotta be an improvement - expect prices for their stuff to go down, because they certainly can't go any higher!
  • They are located in Southlake Texas, so it gives me hope that quality won't hit the skids.

Now, if they would step up to the plate and start making MPPT charge controllers, I'd be happy. Their PWM ones are great... but they are still PWM.
  • I have a 20 Watt Zamp system on roof - just enough that Northwood could claim it has solar.
The controller does put on a nifty show!
  • IMO when an acquisitions company buys something its because they think all it needs is some cash and/or new management to grow very big, to eliminate competition or to squeeze more profits out to repay for the acquisition and for profit. So expect changes in Zamp.
