Yes, you are missing something. That inverter will never run the air conditioner and "quick draw" start won't help it. Most ACs have a time delay that once the compressor stops it won't attempt a restart for several minutes. This is to allow compressor head pressures to drop somewhat. Don't forget, the compressor cycles on and off when the AC is on. My 2K PSW inverter won't start the AC.
