Battery manufacturer engineers have waaaaaaaaay too much time on their hands, after running around the plant stamping out small fires. Especially if the manufacturer does not have testing facilities. So to please management and keep those weekly checks coming, they REFER to trusted manufacturer's specs, then tweak the numbers around to make their findings "unique". When I checked LTH in Monterrey a few years ago, hell they didn't even have one Johnson Controls engineer on site. Yet the facility was manufacturing batteries that LTH never had made for the domestic market. A person CAN NOT FIND a 650 CCA group 24
car battery down here. And trust me, the more plates you squeeze into a cell the amount of problems is squared to the increase. Figure it this way - 50% more cell Pb mass X amplitudes and numbers of road shocks. You'll see a lot of cracked windshields down here. It is windshield frame twist from road shocks that cracks windshields.
A greater mass going yadda-yadda-yadda over thousands of gravel road washboard ripples distorts battery jars, cell supports, and cell to cell connectors.
Think of my above comment this way pnichols:
Here we have folks obsessed with tenths of a volt variances in battery management.
It's like a group of people at one end of a house, arguing about subtle tint of house paint, when the other end of the house is on fire.
