10000 btu air conditioner

Not sure where you got the 492 figure- the specs I saw list 1290 watts for the 10k btu/hr unit- the 480 watt unit is 2.5k btu/hr- not really big enough for much more than a doghouse (not big enough for that in Florida :) )
