I keep seeing this claim that MPPT does better in the shoulder hours but I am doubtful. I hope to be able to find out starting mid-April how that plays by comparing my 230w and MPPT with equivalent PWM results, which I will be able to do.
I know Salvo's graph shows MPPT doing twice as well in the shoulder hours, but only a tiny bit better mid-day. That's because the 1 amp advantage stays about the same all day while it goes from being 1 amp more than 1 amp in the shoulder hours to being 1 amp more than 8 amps at noon. :)
