Glad they fit, sad that you got two duds.
They are actually made to work with AC or DC voltages from 8V up to 30V so polarity should not be a problem with these.
I guess I have been lucky, overall I have bough 36 of these LEDs and none have been bad and so far have not failed either..
Use the Amazon for return/replacement, should have no problem getting replacements without any hassle.. One of the major reasons I like dealing with Amazon..
