Does your unit have an auxiliary Luber-Finer bypass filter on it? If yes, is it a C500L or C750L?
Unless your 855 has a different oil pan 44-quarts was in vogue in the 1960's. I had to modify the stipdick on Quicksilver. I had to add 2-inches because the new tube had to bend around the aftercooler. I used 20 gauge 18-8 stainless steel shined to a mirror with simichrome. Marks on BOTH sides. Did four marks in 2 liter increments.
