The 14/3 is the diameter of my thumb. It barely fits through the bulkhead gland. The next size gland is 3 dollars more. Plus 12/3 will not fit a green dot 15amp plug.

Are you sure that is SJO not SO ? I have some SJO 12/3 and is about the size of my index finger.
