WOW NEVER EVER INSTALL A GEN IN A STORAGE COMPARTMENT. Regardless of how you think it's insulated you just may go into a permanent sleep and I'd prefer to not read about you on the news.
The plug is at the rear of the trailer and the converter etc is near the front. I have a 2000 watt inverter/gen that I would like to use and set in the storage compartment in the front.
Would it be possible to wire in a second plug into the front compartment so a guy doesn't have to run any cord outside the trailer? - AllegroDNomadHow are you venting exhaust so it does not have a chance to move up to the TT and kill ya?
- Yes. Just install a 50 amp transfer switch.

You can either install an ATS (Automatic Transfer Switch)
OR just leave generator supplied power as a female outlet in/near your electric bay and you would plug your shore power cord into it. - ivbinconnedExplorer IIThe plug is at the rear of the trailer and the converter etc is near the front. - Yes. Open the breaker panel and you will see 2x 50a main breakers and a stack of branch circuits that each feed.
- ivbinconnedExplorer IIThanks for the education. So some of the 110 plugs will be fed from one side and others...from the other side?
- BB_TXNomadJust to add to above. It does have incoming 220 vac just like house wiring. But unless you have something special in your trailer, all your AC lights and appliances only use one or the other of the 120 vac hot legs.
- wolfe10ExplorerYup, 50 amp RV is two hots L1 and L2 (outer straights), one neutral (center straight) and one ground (center round).
