I got a dorm-fridge-sized AC freezer on craigslist for $50. It keeps my food frozen for 3.5 days without electricity, if it is full (ice jugs in any empty space), I open it once a day, and ambient temps are 65ish.
If it is almost empty and ambient temps are over 100, it keeps stuff frozen for about 24 hours.
It is a 'medical' freezer, which means it gets extra cold when plugged in, and I think that helps.
