  • A inverter makes shore power (120v) from your battery. A converter provides 12v DC from shore power.

  • Locate the make and model and post it!
Yes, it is possible that you have an inverter charger.
  • I have been told a couple of time's it's an inverter?? in a BT Cruiser
  • About 13.6 volts when charged.
If battery is low then voltage should increase 1/2 volt or more as you plug in. Then rise to 13.6 as it charges.
Converter make and model would help.
  • Your converter (not inverter) should be at about 13.5-14 volts. This voltage is required to charge the battery.
  • Welcome top RV.net!
You could be confused an inverter changes 12 volts DC to 120 volts AC.
A converter changes 120 volts AC to 12 volts DC.
The converter depending on the make, model and year should be putting out around 13 volts DC.
Newer better converter outputs will vary.
What is the make and model of the unit in question?
