Similar with moving from 5 gallons/flush to 1.6 gallons/flush toilet.
There just is no longer the excess resources to continue without change.
Maybe not out there where the water is 'drying up' so to speak, but up here in the Great Lakes states, a 5 gallon flush is fine thank you.
No you cannot have ours (water), you want to live there, deal with it.
There is something interestingly wrong with folks who intentionally moved and built in the desert (KNOWING that water is hard to find in a desert), then wine about the lack of water :S ..
Then they start stealing water from adjacent states then attempt to regulate all the other states water in order to justify the bad things they did..
Regulate everyone into the ground and eventually you have nothing left for the common "little people" to use since it will all be "sacred resources" that only the "regulators" can use..
