The A26 incandescent 12 volt bulbs consume very close to 100 watts at 12.00 volts. They are also very easy to use. By combining 100 and 50 watt bulbs it's easy to arrive at a 5% amp hour constant current throttle for equalizing batteries.
My main dislike of CFL lamps is the obligatory warm-up time of a minute or more. Contraindicated for spurious duty like bathroom or demand security lights.
