The A26 incandescent 12 volt bulbs consume very close to 100 watts at 12.00 volts. They are also very easy to use. By combining 100 and 50 watt bulbs it's easy to arrive at a 5% amp hour constant current throttle for equalizing batteries.
My main dislike of CFL lamps is the obligatory warm-up time of a minute or more. Contraindicated for spurious duty like bathroom or demand security lights.
I just love the Big Brother Orwellism in the USA, facial recognition cameras everywhere, cop cars that automatically scan every license plate and buzzes the patrolmen if anything plucks the magic twanger. This is a bad bad example for kids growing up. Honor and trustworthiness gets binned."Don't do it because you'll get caught" is utterly different than "Don't do it because it's wrong"
I wonder what other little jewels, useless and bored congresspeople are going to target to justify their existence?
12V, E26 base, got it! :)
I did mention that "specialty" incadescents were not included in the "ban".
I did mention that Halogen bulbs are also not included in the ban.
SO, with that said, perhaps it is time to upgrade your system..
Should be able to switch to Halogen Bipin bulbs..
Halogen bulbs still use Tungsten but with an addition of Halogen atmosphere in a smaller bulb capsule..
BiPin bases are easy to get and once again based in Millimeters for the pin spacing.
HERE is one example of a 12V 100 BiPin bulb using common G6.3 base.
Should also be able to find 12V 10W, 20W, 35W and 50W in the same GY6.3 base.
There is no way that a LED or CFL can be made that small and bright at this time without burning up..
Alternately but a bit less elegant looking is replacement Halogen auto aftermarket fog/aux light bulbs..
Should be able to find those in 12V 36W, 50W and 100W..
