Let's not veer too far off the path or this thread is going to get the CLOSED sign.
So they're a bunch of hypocrites. What do you expect out of failed lawyers?
But it's the mesmerized voters that concern me. No one has come up with the idea of TAX CREDIT SWAPPING: Take today's technology. Generators for instance - they emit X number of hydrocarbons and CO per million.
The company who develops controls to halve the emissions gets a ONE MILLION DOLLAR tax credit. Not government style prestidigitation of numbers, ten million dollars becomes nine million. This is the way to get results.
I love the battery charger scenario. They banned chargers with no shutoff timers but that wasn't good enough they banned all transformer half wave rectifier battery chargers. They "could have" banned chargers that have no timer but that requires mechanical aptitude. Failed lawyers have no mechanical or electrical aptitude.
Wait until the subject of recreational vehicles pops up. "But governor the engines emit exactly the same parts per million toxic emissions as a small SUV!" (The grand revelation is discovered by a staff member) "But Sir! BUT SIR!" These vehicles use three times the fuel of a SUV! Three times the emissions per mile!"
Introduce a bill, henceforth after 1 January 20xx, no private vehicle can emit more than "xoxoxox" parts per MILE.
"Ahh, if they want that stuff lettum develop electrical or do without"
"But sir, the least expensive model will cost $250,000"
"Tough! The majority of voters gave us a mandate to save the planet. We need two committees to study 81 new bills we are going to introduce. They'll save millions and millions of fuel each years because they won't be able to drive all those unnecessary miles. How how much toll did we decide on for 30 miles of driving on Interstate 5? Remember, no booths! We add up all the toll tickets then add it as a use tax on their next year's license fee. Thank god for automated license plate tracking"
"You People" haven't a clue...
