You have many options in the 12 volt lamp division Not just the standard A-24 base. So don;t worry abou tit, Just put in a different socket.
OH And I agree they make Great current limiters.. I lost power to the switch that controls my adjustable mirrors. Still ahve not found the fuse or break.. I wound up feeding the ciruit via a standard clarence/marker light. the mirror motors do not even light it so the voltage drop is low. and if the circuit ever re-complets and it tries to "Back feed" well the light lights and I say "GREAT".
