If you put the bank in series, that would have to go? Or could you leave it connected since there is no positive? It could stay anyway as long as that battery were the one being tapped for 12v I guess. Swapping the battery being tapped mid-day would mean shifting that neg ground too?
Isolating the 12V house power would likely be a huge undertaking for most rigs since the use of frame ground for 12V is common. And equipment such as chargers, inverters, gens, refers etc may be designed such that a frame ground besides the DC is expected. And other equipment like HW and A/Cs may also use 12V.
Probably the only practical solution is to use the grounded battery for 12V on a 24V system. And swap all battery connections so that the other battery becomes the grounded battery.
