I decided to do the Mr Wiz trick and desulphate while still operating.
On whole house via inverter so plugged in the 1093 and clamped to batteries (supplying the inverter) and started the "Recondition" 24 hr cycle. Added approx. half an amp draw according to the Trimetric.
So will try that for a few days to see if things get better (or not)
