Under incredibly high humidity conditions >90% my AC units, (all six of them) try to reduce humidity before the temperature starts to drop noticeably. If you have another AC in a different part of your rig and it acts differently then surely the problem lies within the AC.
I have discovered through anger and frustration that "portable" ducted AC units SUCK as far as efficiency is concerned. My LG 5,000 BTU window air cools the room just as well as a Frigidaire 11,000 BTU portable. Double the energy consumption.
