ah, NO they do NOT do the same thing. with a hard start kit I know of 3 of us that still couldn't start a coleman mach III much above sea level or on a hot day with a honda 2000. And to start it meant take it off eco and hope it started.
With the micro air easy start 5,000ft 95F honda 2000 in eco mode, nice ramp up and away it goes and goes and goes. no fuss, no muss, just reliable. I did a graph of starting current demand on the Mach III with the hard start cap and easy start. Hard start still needed 50A peak, not for long, but longer than the honda could hold out. Microair easy start drew a consistent 20A for about 3 seconds then drops down to the 10-13A running current.
