1994 Bounder Fleetwood 454 Engine-Start Problems!

Driving down interstate 10 at 70mph everything running well. Engine stopped running, just like turning off ignition. Coasted to side of road. Let it set for a while then tried to start. Would not even...

The other thing that threw me was when we put in new timing chain and we set engine to #1 cylinder(first cyl on left looking from rear of engine) and set rotor to #1, it kept backfiring through throttle body. Me and another mech figured out it was 180 out. so I reset rotor to 180, and when I did the engine started and ran normally????
