I'm with you sounds like ignition. No Crankshaft sensor on this yr engine. Camshaft sensor but replaced it. Followed all wires to proper cylinders, and verified firing order. Did find diagram on internet showed #1 plug on cap to be at most forward center position. But like you we verified TDC both at #1 cylinder and timing chain gear marks. The only thing I questioned was book shows timing gear marks to be across from each other. I think both marks should be at top of each gear respectively. that difference might make it 180 out?
