1994 Bounder Fleetwood 454 Engine-Start Problems!

Driving down interstate 10 at 70mph everything running well. Engine stopped running, just like turning off ignition. Coasted to side of road. Let it set for a while then tried to start. Would not even...

Check the ignition switch. Sounds very familiar to a problem I had. When I pulled the switch assy. out the back plug was melted. I had the occasional backfire. I noticed it would crank but not start till the key was released. If it was running fine I doubt that you have intermittent timing. One thing I noticed was that the metal around the key would get warm during driving.
