1995 Georgie Boy- Cruise Air 34'
Newbie here, searched threads and couldn't find anything on this so forgive me if this is a duplicate.
My slide (electric motor- RBW Industries slide) would not slide out the slide after replacing a motor that had broken the casting. It would/will slide out about 2 inches and stop. Then upon pushing the switch again it will slide back in. I have to assume there is a controller of some sort that is reading the amperage and it actually thinks the slide is all the way out. I have not found this controller (hoping for someone to help me out...) so can't comment on it. I manually pushed slide out so it shouldn't be a binding issue(mechanical. I used an axillary battery attached to the leads and operated the slide out as well. At the coach leads I am reading about 12.5 volts without the motor load(motor not attached). Prior to the slide motor breaking (the overhung cast aluminium support of the output shaft broke off) the slide went in and out this season many times. So I am kind of thinking it is not a battery supply issue (bad ground, etc... of course can't rule that out as it can happen at any time.) I am currently charging the coach batteries for a day to see if that will help out so will try to move the slide again tomorrow.
Really I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this sort of problem. I am wondering if anyone knows where to look for the controller, and I am wondering if there is a way to "bypass" the existing system with circuit breakers or something... I would like to keep the slide automatic so someone doesn't accidentally over-extend or over-retract the slide.
Thanks in advance for any advice!!
