You go on the roof. Remove the outside cover. Towards the front of the unit is the grey box with the evaporator coil in it. You remove the 4 nuts and lift off the gray evaporator cover. The control box is right there. That is how it is with our Coleman units.
On the Mach 15 that control box is inside the unit and I have it hanging down from the unit inside the RV right now.
When I replaced the old Mach V, I just disconnected the wires from the old unit's control box, unbolted it and set it aside. Then I set the new one in place, bolted it down and hooked the AC and control wires to the control box that came with the new unit. These wires just go off toward the passenger side in the space between the roof and the ceiling.
The 120vac line runs back to the circuit breaker panel under the bed. The control wires go somewhere, picking up the 12 volts and ending up at the thermostat. When I check continuity between thermostat base and the new control box, the yellow wire is open, and the compressor doesn't work.
However the green wire that controls the fan, and does work, does show continuity between the base and the control box.
But the yellow wire is not just disconnected since I'm showing some voltage on it, just not the right voltage.
Thanks for your input.
