You're right.
At the rear thermostat, I have 12v on the heater wire, the compressor wire, and the fan wire. And this 12v tracks the coach batteries, i.e. 12.96, 13.25, etc., depending on where they are in the charge cycle.
On the front thermostat, I have 12v, 5.9v, and 12v. So somewhere in the wall of the rig, hidden somewhere behind a panel or something, is a junction box of some sort.
