I applaud you on being sound-conscious with your generator. At the tracks we run into a lot of people who have what we call the "chainsaw" gennys that drive you nuts. :)
My 15k unit causes no discernible increase in revs when it fires up, even when the twins are in Eco mode. However, I did install a hard-start capacitor before ever really using the gens for AC.
I'm in full agreement about the chainsaw rattletraps! Over the course of the years you see a lot of the same people camping at the track...this year a new crew showed up with the loudest damn generator I've ever seen or heard. We got excited one night when it ran out of fuel...but dammit if someone didn't get out of bed to fill her up and refire it.
