2 - 2000 watt vs 1 - 3000 watt noise level

I have a champion 3000i I purchased at Christmas. When I first started it, I was very surprised how quiet it was. I was expecting it to be louder. It was a bit louder than my eu2000 at idle but not much. First time I used it was at the fish house New Year's Day. The eu was having trouble running a 1,500 watt oven along with the lights, satellite receiver and tv. The champion powered them all and may have been quieter than Honda , granted the honda was running at near 100% and the champion about 2/3s.

The champion does seem to have a different pitch that is a little less pleasant than the Hondas
