Many good responses, but IMO, rjxj is spot on. Cleaning the exhaust port screen, is the first issue to deal with. My Stihl blower needs exhaust cleaning every year, with similar symptoms. It idles fine, but when you give more throttle, it slows and lacks power. Once this starts, it gets worse quickly!
Try putting a potato in your exhaust pipe. Air/fuel in, you need to get exhaust out. This is especially true with a 2 cycle, which is more or less an air pump.
