Ok guys, I got some time to look at a few things on it today:
I pulled the plastic cage off of it so I could get to the engine.
#1 - I unscrewed the metal covering on the muffler/exhaust and out came the metal screen. It was not fouled or blocking any air that I can see.
#2 - I opened the air filter and it looks super clean, far cleaner than I expected. There was what looks like a small bit of actual black oil on the bottom edge of it.
#3 - I pulled the spark plug and it was blackish so I cleaned it up with a paper towel and bit and even used some very fine sandpaper on it.
Then I needed to use it and it didn't want to start today without some extra pulling of that cord. When I started it, it was just as it has been, it will only run at idle RPM and even at that it will die after 3 minutes or so. You can pull the cord and it will run again only on low RPM for 3 minutes. Starting it 4 or 5 times to clean the yard got real tired today.
Should I look at fuel system next? It seems like it is just starved for fuel. Would it drying and then pulling it to start again give a small amount of time for enough fuel to run the 3 minutes perhaps?
Thanks!
