According to what I read the smaller number on cable means its a larger cable, so the 4/0 would be to small, I think your wrong.
Well your right, the 4/0 is larger than the 1/0, strange it works in the opposite when talking about gauge, 2 gauge is bigger than 4 gauge but when talking about 1/0 to 4/0 its the other way around..
Confusing. :h
