2003 newmar freightliner speedometer stopped working

Hello,

I’m looking for some advice. I recently purchased a 2003 Newmar motorhome built on a Freightliner chassis, and all of the gauges are not working.

The previous owner told me they all stopped working on the same day.

I have already replaced the VDC with a brand-new unit, so at this point it seems the issue may be related to the instrument cluster.

Does anyone have experience or knowledge with this type of motorhome?

  • might be a stupid question, but I assume all the fuses were checked.  and following that the wires inspected?

Yes, I have checked all the fuses. I also verified the pins at the VDC connector and confirmed that I have 12V power, as well as approximately 7V on the wires going to the individual gauges.

The turn signal and high beam indicators are displayed on the information center, but no other information is shown.

At this point, I suspect there may be an issue with the instrument cluster/speedometer itself, but I’m not sure where I should start looking first.
